Join AltRider in the famed Death Valley for Taste of Dakar 2014. Riders will get stellar off-road routes created by none other than Dakar racing legend Jimmy Lewis, five catered meals, adult beverages, two nights of camping in the scenic desert, and training for riders of all skill level.
This awesome three-day event will kick off Friday at the Wine Ridge RV Resort in Pahrump, NV where a true adventure awaits. Near the Taste of Dakar “bivouac” is Jimmy’s training grounds for the Dakar Rally—a gorgeous desert with mountains filled with miles of sand dunes, cracked riverbeds, and rocky trails amongst the arid brush. Riders set up camp near the sandy beach on the lake and mingle with like-minded adventure enthusiasts followed by a delicious catered dinner and adult beverages by the campfire.
On Saturday, riders take part in an all-day adventure ride through some of the best off-road riding in the west coast—separate routes are catered to riders of different skill levels, from novice to expert. After a hearty lunch in the desert, Jimmy will take riders for a short tutorial in off-road riding on ADV bikes in a few different terrains.
The Jimmy Lewis Off-Road Riding School will be offering a class at the AltRider event Friday covering all the basics for riders of all levels. Friday class sold out - Sunday class now available.
