The GS side stand was never designed for soft ground. On dirt, gravel, or hot asphalt, the stock foot sinks — and a tipped bike in the middle of nowhere is a bad situation. This enlarger fixes that with a larger footprint and a serrated grip surface that stays put.
AltRider engineered this foot to be as light as possible. That matters. Extra weight on a side stand can cause it to drop mid-ride, triggering the side stand switch and cutting the engine without warning. Material is removed strategically from the bottom plate to keep the weight down without sacrificing strength.
Both the top and bottom plates feature a 3D tread pattern. This gives your boot a positive surface to push against when deploying the stand — no fumbling, even with luggage loaded. Torx fasteners clamp directly onto the stock side stand foot, so the piece stays locked down after months of hard use. No rattling, no stripped threads.
